History

The Cairo International Stadium is the first of its kind with Olympic standards in the Middle East and Africa. It is located in the Nasr City area of ​​northeast Cairo. It was designed by the German architect Werner Mars, the same architect who designed the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, 1936, completed in 1960 and inaugurated by the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser at the July Revolution celebrations of the same year. Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, accompanied by Dr. Klaus Schuermann, President of the International Federation of Modern Pentathlon, and Mr. Wittold Banka, President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), and in the presence of Eng. Sherif El-Erian, President of the Egyptian Federation of Modern Pentathlon, inaugurated the development work of shooting and weapon halls hosting the competitions of the Pentathlon Championship Speech for adults qualifying for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and the World Laser-Run Championship, which is scheduled to be held during the period from (8-14) this June, in the stadiums and halls designated by the Cairo International Stadium Authority.
