History

The Cairo International Stadium is the first of its kind with Olympic standards in the Middle East and Africa. It is located in the Nasr City area of ​​northeast Cairo. It was designed by the German architect Werner Mars, the same architect who designed the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, 1936, completed in 1960 and inaugurated by the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser at the July Revolution celebrations of the same year. Outdoor Halls

It receives Handball and indoor football matches and it is equipped for holding meetings and conferences, festivals and sports shows. It includes a theater which presents plays and musical & singing parties besides summer movies and 11 tennis courts.

The hall can hold up to (6464) spectators as follows:84 VIPs loge,380 front loge,2000 first class- right/ left,4000 upper stage

Twenty six toilets (men- ladies) – 5 cafeterias to serve the spectators-2 parking areas hold 1000 cars for spectators and 40 cars for VIPs.

The hall is divided into (6) small halls that are equipped for training and fighting sports: (dueling – table tennis- Billiards – Judo-wresting-taikondo – karate), Eight rooms for players.
