History

The Cairo International Stadium is the first of its kind with Olympic standards in the Middle East and Africa. It is located in the Nasr City area of ​​northeast Cairo. It was designed by the German architect Werner Mars, the same architect who designed the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, 1936, completed in 1960 and inaugurated by the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser at the July Revolution celebrations of the same year. The tournament will be held from 10 to 13 March on the international track at Cairo Stadium, with the participation of 11 countries: Egypt, Burundi, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea, Nigeria, Tanzania, Algeria, Kenya, Morocco, South Africa and Sudan. Dr. Wagia Azzam confirmed that the tournament is being held on the international arena, and it is a wonderful sports edifice in Africa, and the Ministry of Youth and the government were keen to support this giant sports edifice within the Egyptian state’s role in supporting sports and champions. The tournament activities will be broadcast live on Ontime Sport. A few days ago, Egypt hosted the African Cycling Championship for Road No. 15, which witnessed the participation of 15 countries and achieved great success, and the South African team won first place in it.
