History

The Cairo International Stadium is the first of its kind with Olympic standards in the Middle East and Africa. It is located in the Nasr City area of ​​northeast Cairo. It was designed by the German architect Werner Mars, the same architect who designed the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, 1936, completed in 1960 and inaugurated by the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser at the July Revolution celebrations of the same year. Major General Ali Darwish, chairman of the Cairo International Stadium Authority, confirmed the readiness of the halls complex to host the Arab handball and table tennis school, to be held in Cairo from March 2 to 13. Darwish expressed his great pleasure in hosting the delegations of the participating Arab countries. This is the first time that the Cairo International Stadium will host the Arab school session, which receives great attention and special care from Dr. Tarek Shawki, Minister of Education and Dr. Ashraf Subhi, Minister of Youth and Sports.
