History

The Cairo International Stadium is the first of its kind with Olympic standards in the Middle East and Africa. It is located in the Nasr City area of ​​northeast Cairo. It was designed by the German architect Werner Mars, the same architect who designed the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, 1936, completed in 1960 and inaugurated by the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser at the July Revolution celebrations of the same year. Starting March 11, the Velodroms will host training for the Egyptian cycling national team. Training will continue every Saturday and Tuesday from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM until Tuesday, April 8. Training will then continue from Saturday, April 12, to May 12, in two shifts: 9 AM to 12 PM and 6 PM to 9 PM.
