History

The Cairo International Stadium is the first of its kind with Olympic standards in the Middle East and Africa. It is located in the Nasr City area of ​​northeast Cairo. It was designed by the German architect Werner Mars, the same architect who designed the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, 1936, completed in 1960 and inaugurated by the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser at the July Revolution celebrations of the same year. The Cairo Stadium Indoor Halls Complex is preparing to host the Men's Fencing World Cup in Hall 1 from May 22nd to 24th. The tournament is expected to see wide participation from around the world, with 231 athletes representing 40 countries having registered. These countries are: Morocco, the neutral country, Algeria, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Spain, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Iran, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Jordan, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, the United States, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, and host country Egypt.
