General Authority of Cairo Stadium

History

The Cairo International Stadium is the first of its kind with Olympic standards in the Middle East and Africa. It is located in the Nasr City area of ​​northeast Cairo. It was designed by the German architect Werner Mars, the same architect who designed the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, 1936, completed in 1960 and inaugurated by the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser at the July Revolution celebrations of the same year. Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports and Chairman of the Cairo International Stadium Authority, met with the Authority’s Board of Directors to discuss all investment and economic files, as well as all developments in the mall, and a group of related topics. The meeting also discussed a number of investment proposals available for Cairo Stadium, and these proposals aim to make better use of the stadium’s capabilities.
