History

The Cairo International Stadium is the first of its kind with Olympic standards in the Middle East and Africa. It is located in the Nasr City area of ​​northeast Cairo. The Minister of Youth and Sports inaugurates the 25th edition of the Arab Cross Country Championship, which was held at Cairo Sports Stadium, in the presence of Prof. Walid Abdel-Wahhab, Executive Director of the General Authority of the Cairo Sports Stadium, Dr. Habib Al-Rabaan, President of the Arab Athletics Federation, Engineer Sherif El-Erian, Secretary General of the Olympic Committee, Dr. Saif Shaheen, President of the Egyptian Athletics Federation, and Dr. Abdel Awal Mohamed, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports. Thirteen Arab countries are participating in the championship, they are the "UAE, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Palestine, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Somalia, Iraq, Morocco, Oman, Sudan," in addition to Egypt, the host country. The championship competitions witnessed a number of races, including the 4 km junior race, the 6 km junior race, the 6 km junior race, the 8 km junior race, the 10 km race for women, and the 10 km race for men.
