History

The Cairo International Stadium is the first of its kind with Olympic standards in the Middle East and Africa. It is located in the Nasr City area of ​​northeast Cairo. It was designed by the German architect Werner Mars, the same architect who designed the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, 1936, completed in 1960 and inaugurated by the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser at the July Revolution celebrations of the same year. The Organizing Committee of the Arab Cross Country Championship, which will be held in Cairo on February 5, decided to hold a press conference for the championship next Saturday, corresponding to February 4, at 5:00 pm, in the conference hall of the covered halls complex in Cairo Stadium. The Arab Cross Country Championship will be held in Egypt with the participation of 13 countries: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, UAE, Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Palestine from the continent of Asia, and Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Sudan and Somalia from the African continent, in addition to the participation of Egypt.
